Annie Lennox performed in Hong Kong, on April 28 at MO Bar at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, to Raise Awareness for her SING Campaign for HIV/AIDS women and children. In order to redeem an invite that night, all guests were required to make a minimum donation of HK$2,000 to the SING Campaign, our Sandy Lam was one of the participant that evening.

英國殿堂級創作女歌手 Annie Lennox,大前晚在中環置地文華東方酒店 MO Bar舉行慈善騷,吸引林憶蓮和譚筠怡捧場。斥南非多貪官來自蘇格蘭的 Annie Lennox在個唱中以觸動樂迷心弦的騷靈式唱腔,演唱個人名曲《Little Bird》和《 Why》外,也演繹其組合 Eurythmics的經典《 Sweet Dreams(Are Made of This)》和《 There Must Be An Angel》等。
Annie近年致力慈善,由她發起的 Sing籌款活動主要幫助非洲感染愛滋病的婦女和小孩,她說:「近期大家很關心豬流感,但愛滋病也是嚴重問題,絕對不容忽視。」個唱舉行期間,播出 Annie到訪非洲的片段,令不少fans感動得發出索鼻的聲音,也有一名男 fans身體不適要坐到一邊休息。
關心愛滋問題的 Annie還氣憤地說:「我尊重所有宗教,但教宗呼籲教徒不要用安全套!還有南非政府貪污問題嚴重,當地官員竟然對人民說吃維他命丸和檸檬便可醫治愛滋病!」她又感激觀眾當晚為愛滋病患者籌得近 50萬港元。
自嘲傷殘巨星
Annie也表現幽默一面,早前因腰傷致行動不便的她自嘲地指場內樓梯說:「如果下次有我這種傷殘的樂壇巨星來表演,希望酒店增設傷殘人士專用的電動輔助椅。」她又好奇地問觀眾為何黑人歌手 Wyclef Jean去年可在場內吧跳來跳去演唱,令現場充滿笑聲。

The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, together with Sony Music, will be hosting one of the most exciting unplugged charity events of the year – An Evening with Annie Lennox at MO Bar on 28 April 2009.This will be the first time the Academy and multi-Grammy award winning singer/songwriter has performed in Asia as a solo artist.
A world-renowned musician/live performer, Annie Lennox has just released a retrospective collection of her music entitled The Annie Lennox Collection, and will be using this rare occasion to raise awareness for the SING campaign, an initiative Annie established to bring attention to HIV/AIDS in Africa.
To experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Annie Lennox live in the intimate setting of MO Bar at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, guests are required to make a minimum donation of HK$2,000 to the SING Campaign in order to redeem an invite to An Evening with Annie Lennox and a copy of The Annie Lennox Collection CD, courtesy of Sony Music.
In this benefit event for SING, the Annie will perform at least five songs from the rich repertoire of her illustrious career. All sale proceeds will be donated to the SING Campaign.
Ms Annie Lennox and her travelling party will be flown into Hong Kong at the generosity of British Airways, who has kindly sponsored the airfare to make this event possible. Doors to the event will open at 7pm and will close at 8pm for the performance. Latecomers will not be allowed in after the performance starts.
